Quebec Fair Trade Month has a mission to inform, sensitize and mobilize the population of La Capitale-Nationale to fair trade, as an alternative mode of consumption, to promote equity in trade between Southern producers and Northern consumers, in addition to encourage responsible consumption and buying fair trade products by presenting the advantages enjoyed by both the southern producers and northern consumers.

TAKE PART IN THE WORLD FAIRTRADE CHALLENGE
The World Fairtrade Challenge is taking place from May 13th to 15th and aims to create the world’s largest Fairtrade coffee break!
Take part in the World Fairtrade Challenge and unite with other coffee lovers to support Fairtrade certified farmers in their fight against climate change! You can record the number of cups of Fairtrade certified coffee you drink during these days. Or why not get together with friends and family to organize an even bigger Fairtrade coffee break?

Quebec Fair Trade Month Awards
The Quebec Fair Trade Month will present its awards for the fourth year in a row at La Korrigane (380 Dorchester boulevard, Quebec) on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the occasion of the World Fair Trade Day.
Are you a Pioneer? Have you innovated? You got involved? Have you raized awareness among new audiences? Did you cooperated with producers in the South? Are you a fair trade entrepreneur? Your actions have moved forward the fair trade movement in Quebec and you have been noticed by the public?
Submit or nominate a person by completing these forms for the awards that best describes you before April 28th, 2017 and take the chance to win one of the prizes that will be awarded on May 13th, 2017:
The steering committee of the Quebec, fair trade town initiative continues its efforts to obtain the Fairtrade Canada designation of a fair trade town.
After two years of action, most of the steps required to receive the designation are now completed. At this time, members of the steering committee work to receive the support of their community (businesses, community, and religious organizations) as well as the elected representatives of Quebec City.
